Robert Lyons, MD is board-certified in thoracic surgery and in general surgery. Dr. Lyons completed his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of California Los Angeles and was awarded the James L. Cox Fellowship by the American Association for Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Lyons clinical interests include coronary artery bypass grafting, treating aortic valve disease with minimally invasive approaches such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), minimally invasive atrial fibrillation surgery (MAZE procedure), and aortic aneurysm disease.

I had complete confidence in Dr. Lyons throughout my experience of pre-op visits, open heart surgery, hospital visits when he came to my room each day to check on me, and most recently, the post-op video visit. It has been an excellent experience for me and my husband.

Dr. Lyons was very confident and encouraging pre and post surgery . He did an excellent job during the surgery and my family felt I was in “good hands”. After surgery I saw him everyday and he was very knowledgeable about my recovery as well as informing me of any possible complications. I would recommend Dr.Lyons to anyone that may need heart surgery in the future.
