Neuro-Ophthalmology at Trinity Health Hauenstein Neuroscience Center in Grand Rapids unites the fields of neurology and ophthalmology for the evaluation, treatment and investigation of neurologic conditions that affect vision.

Led by fellowship-trained physicians, our team believes in a collaborative approach to care. Medical evaluations are based on a review of prior records, as well as input from closely-aligned disciplines such as neurosurgery and neuroradiology. We also provide state-of-the-art ophthalmic imaging for accurate diagnosis and management of a broad range of disorders.

Our team is equipped to diagnose and manage a diverse range of visual symptoms that arise from a variety of neurologic conditions, as well as provide consultation on unexplained vision concerns that may be unresolved despite prior eye examinations.

Commonly-evaluated visual diagnoses include the following:

  • Abnormal eye movements (ophthalmoparesis, nystagmus)

  • Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (pseudotumor cerebri)
